Umno Youth To Clarify Bilateral Issues With Indonesia
JAKARTA, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- To promote bilateral relations between Malaysia and Indonesia, Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin on Wednesday led a 20-man delegation from the movement in a two-day official visit here.
He said the delegation would meet Indonesia's youth leaders to clarify, among others, issues pertaining to foreign workers in Malaysia and Asia's most wanted terrorist, Malaysian Noordin Mohd Top.
"We will clarify nagging issues involving the two countries...and in doing so, we hope there will be better cooperation between Malaysian and Indonesian youths," he told Bernama here.
During the day, the delegation attended the World Youth Entrepreneurs and Leaders Forum organised by the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in which Khairy was a panelist.
Tonight, the group will attend a dinner with Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek and Malaysian students in Indonesia.
Umno Youth will sign a memorandum of understanding with HIPMI on developing closer bilateral relationship and cooperation between youths of the two nations, followed by meetings with youth leaders from Parti Golkar, Parti Demokrat, Parti Demokrasi Indonesia-Perjuangan and Nahdatul Ulama.
Khairy said the Umno Youth international bureau had chosen Indonesia as the first destination to promote a bilateral relations programme.
"Through positive relationship between Malaysian and Indonesian youths, we can communicate better," he added.
